Hoover Floor Cleaner - Hoover Floormate Deluxe Reviews

Cleaning hardwood floors is never something we look forward to doing in our home, but it is one of these things that is forever necessary at different times. Thankfully, a Hoover Floor Cleaner can help make the task a bit easier.

Sure, Hoover makes a complete line of carpet cleaners for use with all types of carpeting and upholstery, but what about other hard floors like tile? Well, the Hoover Floormate is the choice of many.

This particular Hoover floor cleaner renders the old-fashioned mop and bucket obsolete. It works on select types of sealed hardwood floors, linoleum, tile, marble and many other floor types.

No one wants to handle a dirty wet mop and bucket. It can become a real mess, not to mention how long it takes to dry out and be slippery.

This floor cleaner even includes a unique telescoping wand that swivels to get into all sorts of hard-to-reach areas like toilets. It also comes with a grout cleaning tool and brush to bring the whiteness back to your grout work.

The Hoover Floormate has fingertip control for triggering the cleaning solution and 8 feet of reach. There are twin water tanks that keep clean and dirty water separated, as well as a 27 foot cord to make it even more convenient to sue.

This type of Hoover floor cleaner is ideal for families and those looking for a quick and easy way to clean their floors. It does a solid job without the mess of the mop and bucket.

Hoover FloorMate Deluxe FH40160PC Reviews

Maintaining hard floors like tile or hardwood is a lot of work.

First you have to sweep regularly using a broom or vacuum cleaner.

Second, on high traffic areas like the kitchen where there is a lot of grease residue you’ll have to get down on your knees to scrub off residue.

Third and last step is to mop off any water residue so it doesn’t form water spots.

Today, I’ll share with you a nifty tool that’ll help you save time.

This tool is called the Hoover FloorMate Deluxe (model FH40160PC). It does two things for you – scrub and suck up excess water.

And you don’t need to go down on all fours just to scrub because of the four brushes that does the hard word for you.

This is the newer version of the Hoover FloorMate FH40010B.

The newer version is over 2 pounds lighter but it doesn’t have the vacuum functionality.

It does have a larger water tank which means you’ll be able to a larger area without having to refill.

This version also comes with a separate brush to clean delicate hardwood flooring.

While the older version is a bit more versatile thanks to the vacuum motor, this will work better in terms of deep cleaning bare floor surfaces.

Let’s see how this bare floor cleaner performs in the real world.

Features at a glance:

Has 4 counter-rotating brushes that will agitate bare floors to remove dirt and grime

Dual tank system houses clean water/detergent combination and dirty water to avoid cross-contamination

5 quart capacity allows you to clean a larger area without having to refill

20 foot power cord

Comes with 2 different brushes – one of delicate surfaces like hardwood and another coarser brush for tile

Has a wet/dry mode where you can turn off the brushes and only use the suction to reduce drying time

Backed up by a 2 year warranty

Pros

Lighter than its predecessor by 2 pounds

Has a separate brush for more delicate surface like hardwood

Decent sized water tank (48 ounces)

The clean boost control allows you to apply a little extra detergent for stubborn stains

Has a separate tank for clean and dirty water

Cons

Can’t vacuum with this – it is purely a bare floor cleaner

Short power cord – only 20 feet

No swivel steering

What to expect from the new Hoover FloorMate?

This machine is designed to deep clean hard floors. It doesn’t have any vacuum. So you’ll have to buy an upright or a stick vacuum to do the sweeping for you but I think the absence of a vacuum is a good thing.

First, it freed up more space to put a bigger water tank (48 ounces vs 32 ounces) compared to the older FloorMate and still have a lighter machine (by 2+ pounds).

It comes with the same 4 brush system as the older FloorMate. But this time Hoover also provides a softer brush for more delicate surfaces like hardwood or laminate.

You can only use this machine on sealed surfaces like tile.

If the flooring has gaps in-between water will seep in and will damage it in the long run so check our floors before buying this product.

Bare Floor Performance
This machine is designed to clean sealed bare floor surfaces like tile, hard wood, linoleum and grout.

It’l be best utlizes on high traffic areas with lots of grime and grease build up like the kitchen.

Cleaning stains may take longer
However, it’ll struggle with dried up stains as it’ll take a minute or so to clean up stuff like ketchup stains.

If you have these stains, pre-treat them with a cleaner to soften up the stain before running the Hoover to save you some time.

But for fresh stains or spills it will work very well and you don’t need to go down on your knees and wipe of these stains by hand.

You can do it standing up using this machine to do the scrubbing and drying for you.

In my opinion this would be a better option than a vacuum/mop hybrid because with a mop you’ll only be spreading the mess on other areas. This machine will suck up the messes – no need to change the pads

This is a great option for folks who’d want a machine that’ll help them scrub off oil residue or liquid spills.

It gives you the option of doing it on your feet so you won’t strain your back.

The 4 brush system does the hard work for you and it leaves a relatively dry surface. So you really don’t need to bring out a mop to dry. Remember to use distilled water if possible to prevent any water spots.

Unlike the older version that has a vacuum function this one is purely a scrubber. But it does its job well.

So you will still need to use an upright or stick vacuum stick vacuum to clean loose dirt and dust.

Don’t expect it to clean dried up stains as you’ll need to pre-soak it with cleaner.

Take note that you will need an upright or a stick vacuum to clean stuff like dust or chips.

Can I Use Shampoo To Wash My Car?

Use diluted shampoo to get bird shit off your paint as soon as possible, even if you don’t have time to wash your car right away. It’s gentle enough for babies, and it breaks that nasty stuff up quickly so you can wipe it away. It’s also especially effective if you have birds in your area that have been eating alarmingly bright berries. What Pressure Washer is Recommended for Homeowner?

I am a homeowner and need a pressure washer for regular homeowner stuff like cleaning deck, driveway, porch. I'll probably use it 2-3 times a year. I prefer an electric pressure washer only b/c I've used my dad's gas one and that thing went through gas like nobody's business. Probably had to fill it 6 times while pressure washing the driveway/sidewalk. What brand do y'all recommend? I'm leaning towards a Black Max model b/c it's metal and has brass fittings. Many of the other brands such as Sun Joe SPX3000 Electric Pressure Washer , AR Blue Clean AR390SS Electric Pressure Washer etc look very plasticy. If fuel usage is your only issue with gas powered washers, then you should reconsider. I have a gas pressure washer with a 190cc Honda engine, and I fill the gas tank (roughly a quart) about once an hour. An hour is a lot of pressure washing. I've used the electric ones, and to be honest, they just don't have the power I need, even for ...
